On Linkedin, on Instagram, on this platform, and all over the Internet, people praise the “creator economy“ and condemn full-time employment.

Employees get a bit jealous scrolling through the social media feed of those running a business and living in Bali. Their lives seem brighter, easier, and more purposeful.

Should I quit my job and become self-employed too?” — I bet many people asked this question after being inspired by success stories. I did it too.

I have almost quit my full-time job to favor uncertainty, self-employment, and endless working hours for pennies.

Like many others, I started a writing side hustle during the lockdown in 2020. In time, my inner-self wanted more written content, better stats, and more money. Eventually, I increased the number of hours spent on my side hustle.

Obsessed by someone else’s success stories, I had only one motivation — to be like them.

I wonder how many more employed persons got hooked by the same ideas? If it was only me, the side hustle economy was not that much on the rise.
